A General Description of the World's Coffee:
- Coffee From Brazil
- The best is Santos - smooth and sweet with
full body, slight bitterness or acidity.
- Coffee From Colombia
- All coffee produced is Arabica. The finest is
Supremo, rich brew, solid flavor acidic. The basis for all the flavored
coffees we sell.
- Coffee From Costa Rica
- All coffee is Arabica. Very mild with nutty
background. Full bodied and rich. We sell Tarrazu. Smooth and
satisfying.
- Coffee From Guatemala
- All coffees are Arabica. Well flavored with
snap and zest. A dry aroma. We sell the best grade called Antigua.
- Coffee From Hawaii
- Best known is Kona. Strong flavored, full
bodied and mellow.
- Coffee From Indonesia
- Home of Java. Thick mellow character.
Heavy-bodied. Blended with Yemeni-Java. Other fine beans are
Celebes and Sumatra.

- Sweet flavor. Full rich body. We use Yacco

- Rich and mellow with a delicate body. We sell the
Peaberry Grade.

- Flavorful, rich delicate winy taste. Light bodied
and slightly sweet. Softly aromatic.
- Coffee From Yemen
- The oldest and most famous is Mocha. A rich -
almost chocolate flavored coffee. Smooth and tasty.
Common Terms Used in the Coffee Industry:
- Acidity
- Does not necessarily indicate the actual degree of
acidity in the bean but refers to the sharp and pleasing taste that is neither
sour nor sweet.
- Body
- Refers top the true sensation as the flavor settles
on the tongue. Synonymous with richness of flavor and aroma. A thin,
watered-down tasting coffee is said to lack body.
- Harsh
- Unpleasant to the taste. Often found in robustus
Coffees.
- Winy
- This taste is obtained from beans that have been
fermented.
